I am not a US citizen or permanent resident but have been in the country long enough that I am considered a resident for tax purposes. This means that I no longer have access to the free tax software that is provided by universities to their non-resident alien students. I looked up how to password protect folders on my XP user account, USING THE XP PASSWORD PROTECTION FEATURE. It told me you had to already have your user account set up with a password, then you had to use the SAME password to protect individual folders. Here were the instructions:

I used to have AVG Free on my computer but I uninstalled it because it had errors. I installed norton but it didn't do as good of a job as avg so I uninstalled norton. Now I'm trying to install AVG 7.5 but I keep on getting this error halfway through installation:

Other websites have told me too delete all avg or grisoft folders and I have done that but it didn't help. When I click delete it says error while deleting key. So I researched that and all websites say to give my account permission. No luck, it says

PLEASE HELP!!!

So i installed some new software. Everything seemed to be good untill i went to open it. When I opened it I got a blue screen with the error, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I restarted. My computer then went into a loop in bootin up and restartin itself before it could get to my logon screen. It kept bringin me to the menu with Win in Safe Mode, Last Known config, Start win normally. After trying to start windows normally i did it in the last known good config. I evenutally got back into windows and unistalled the program. It told me to restart and again with the loop. I get back into windows and after it finishes booting up i get the same blue scrn. I reboot again loop again evenutally get to logon screen it says it cant find my settings so it brought me to a guest account Now i reboot it loops i get back into windows and its giving me an error messagethat windows recovered from a serious error. When i reboot the same the keeps happening. I get a blue scrn every 2x. What do I do?
