Open Question: How to reconfigure my router-DSL modem?

I needed to change my PC's hard drive, so I lost all of the software I had installed on it. I have a Westell gateway (a router/DSL modem) for internet connection, but since I lost the Verizon DSL software, I have to reinstall it. I tried to do this but the installation CD does not allow you to reinstall the software on the same computer unless you are a new, rather than existing, user. I do not want to create a new Verizon account, I simply want to reconfigure the router so that I can connect to the Internet. But If I choose "existing user," the program saids that it cannot detect an ethernet adapter, which is needed to pick up the signal from my router. So basically it is assuming that I am trying to connect a second computer to the network, which is not the case. So is there any other way to reconfigure the router?

I have an LIFE AND HEALTH insurance agency, I don't pay commission out, but I do receive them from several companies. I have tried to use Quickbooks but I can't figure out how to record the commissions. I really would like something that I could track the commissions as well as record them. I'm doing my taxes using TaxCut software, and I want to make sure I'm filing properly (i.e., no cheating). Here are my two questions.

1) My wife and I are filing jointly and our AGI is $146,000, which we're happy about because we would qualify for the full stimulus refund (since our AGI is below $150,000). However, when I account for some stock I sold this year, our AGI gets bumped up to $151,500. (Some background: I purchased my company's stock through an employee purchase program since 1999, but I sold all that stock this year. The total cost was about $40,000 and I sold it for about $46,000). Is there anyway I can somehow lower my AGI by $2,000 so I qualify for the full stimulus rebate?

2) I bought a used car in 2007 on which I paid about $2,000 in state/county taxes. How do I account for it?

Okay, no one likes spam, but ...I would rather get spam from time to time than to EVER have a SINGLE REAL email get sent to my Bulk folder. Such is abhorent! Worse yet, I can no longer send a group email to all my friends and family in my address book...it goes into their bulk!??? Huh??? ALL these people I write too in group emails I know VERY well and have known for years. Bad enough that other crap email services like Hotmail already have been doing this for over a year, but now Yahoo! cannot even handle its own software either. I know this is a free service, but now so many people are connected and it is pointless to get another email with any other service, as most of my friends now have Yahoo! email accounts (due to MY encouragement) and my messages will still get sent to their bulk anyway. Will I have to? About 20% of any email I receive from anyone gets sent to my bulk these days. I get no spam at all in my bulk, so now I count my bulk folder as my second inbox. ???

I go to the apple sign in the top left corner, then go to shut down. I hate manually shutting down, because I'm sure its not good for the system. It also won't let me log off once booted on. I have used many free p2p(music programs) including limewire..ares..blubster..morpheus.....m... rocket...shareazza..and many more..im looking now into buy the pro version of one of these softwares...maybe limewire pro..is it worth it..and also is the sound quality of these songs any better on the pro version..? and also can u get in trouble for download off of the paid version..

Hi! I am in the last phase of writing my business plan for a start up company and need to know which is the current best software? My payroll will be outsourced to ADP. My employees will be more than 10- less than 30. My business needs are: basic accounting Accounts Receivable/Payable and I will need a database capable of handling LARGE amounts of personal info. Basically, I am needing to store intern applications plus essays for long term whcih will be downloaded from a website submission form. I also need to be able to merchandise and handle inventory- just between 10- 30 items. I would so appreciate any input from you techie folks out there. Cost is not the most important factor- speed and reliability are. Thanks! (I am in Atlanta GA)

OK, I'm usually the type of person who answers these types of questions, cause I'm way into computers and want to get into IT, so this is kind of disappointing, but I am STUMPED.

My gf has a desktop and a laptop. She just got cable internet for the first time. Installed software in laptop, set up cable and wire (no router yet) and laptop can get online, no problem. Shows that there is no problem with modem and wire and internet, right? So, moved and plugged wire in desktop, cant install software cause it says its not connected, even tho it is. ipconfig gives an ip address, and computer shows recieving packets. I can ping 127.0.0.1 but cant ping anywhere else. No conflicts with onboard ethernet, using Win2000. ipconfig /release and /renew multiple times, but didn't work, not like it should, since the laptop could get online. IE 5.5 128 bit encryped, and on admin account, not like those matter either. Even went thru lan setup, no help. What is wrong?
Comcast IT guy spent 3 hours on it before I got there, and coudln't figure it out. He said computer was too old (its 2 years old and meets more than all the specs. My computer is older and it works)

repair didn't work, could release, but not renew thru windows, but i could thru dos ipconfig.
yeah no kidding. the comcast guy said to get winxp, not 2000, and she could buy a new computer for like $200. I told my gf not to listen to him, that doesn't make sense, nor does it matter.
troubleshoot of nic card does nothing, nothing is wrong with device or drivers

autodial is disabled, i dont need it for cable.
