Biography:
Glass Museum was a short lived new wave band in the early 80's.The three members are from three different countries: James Clyde is from Scotland, Andy Gold is from Germany/ Köln and Walter Mets is from Belgium.Formed in 1980 in Düsseldorf /Germany as a duo of Gold and Mets.They played together in different bands as session musicians.They moved to London in 1982 where the young actor Clyde has joined.So their DAF- and Kraftwerk like electronic/disco side completed with Clyde's psychedelic (The Doors, Velvet Underground) influenced music.In 1982 the get tremendous succes as the supporting band for Simple Minds.

"After returning from Germany Tony Red found a job at a rehearsal/recording studio where he came across a new age Belgium band called Glass Museum. These were seriously good musicians with seriously good equipment for the time (1982). Tony Red joined the band as bass player and they set about putting a set of original songs together, this was where Tony's job in a rehearsal studio came in very handy.'Glass Museum' were offered their first big break with a support tour with "Simple Minds" on the Belgium leg of their European tour to promote the new Simple Minds single 'Promise You A Miracle'." In 1983 Gold founded an own record label called RGM.Under this label released their only Lp in 1984.With the 11 melodic songs they can match any other bands in the early 80's. Their blissful synth-pop/new wave music contains fine vocal parts,brilliant keyboard solos,surprising rhythmic breaks and tone changes.Two of their songs "Future" and "Daytripper" demonstrated that they are not only a one hit wonder band.In the ballads "A Friend Departed" and "Spectres" the singer Clyde created a unique romatic atmosphere.

One of their tracks "Dumping-Cart Motion" appeared on The New Wave Complex - Volume 9

Their Lp is very rare,never released on CD
